This is called the treasure island surf break due to its close proximity to Taprobane island villa, which is in an island in Weligama with a villa built in it. Usually small and clean, the waves break gently before peeling off towards the beach. This is the perfect for beginner surfing especially during the south off season, when the main surfing area of Weligama beach is too rough. You’re better off with your long boards here. You might have to watch out from on coming fishing catamarans.
